I am searching for my Slocum Ancestry in Iowa and Vermont. Edward Slocum/Slocumb b. c/1830s,wife Catherine Mack and son Thomas E. Slocumb b. abt 1853. (Parents may be from Canada) In 1877 Thomas's Vt. Marriage record shows his Birth State to be Independence, Iowa, but the 1880 Vt. Census lists his birthplace as Canada. I have been unable to locate Thomas's birth records or any information on his family life. Thomas and his wife Floretta Howe had one son whose name was Edward Jason Slocum born 1878, Vt. In the spring of 1883 Floretta & Thomas Divorced and Thomas was still living in Jamaica, Vt. I am looking for any information available on Thomas concerning his birth, his parents, and any brothers or sisters known; (Birth, Death, Marriages, Siblings,) etc. I have been unable to locate any records on Thomas at all prior to his Marriage in 1877, or after his Divorce in 1883. I sincerely appreciate any help available.
