Francis Quick married Nancy Callaway 7 March 1838 Edgar Co. IL. She was the daughter of Elijah Washington Callaway & Elizabeth Pack Callaway. Francis appears on the 1840 census of Edgar Co. IL with 1 wife & one son under 5 years old. Their son James W. Quick was born 3 Jan 1839 in Edgar Co. IL. Their son John R. Quick was born ca. 1845 in Madison Co. IL. Before the 1850 census both Francis & Nancy Callway Quick disappear. On the 1850 Edgar Co. IL Census. James W. & John R. Quick are residing with their maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Pack Callaway Cooper. Elizabeth a, widow, having lost both Elijah W. Callaway and her 2nd husband, Joel Cooper. The boys names are misspelled as Quiett on the census report, as are the names of Elizabeth's two sons. Family history stories tell that James W. Quick lost both his parents at age 10, and went to live with his grandmother. I don't find anything more on James W. Quick again until he marries Elizabeth Hurt in Polk Co. Mo. in 1858. He and John R. are both in the Civil War. James with the 1st Ark. Calvary & John R. Quick with 25th Illinois Infantry. It is believed that John R. died as a result of injuries at the Battle of Pea Ridge. Ark.Prior to his joining the war, the last I find Hohn R. Quick, he is living in the household of William & Eliza Jane Savage in Coles Co. IL,1860 Census, he is 16 Years old. James states in a later census report that his father was born in Kentucky I've been unable to find where Francis was born, died, or find any Quick lineage that he belonged with. I have reason to believe that he had two sisters who were also in Edgar Co. IL. both shown to be born in Kentucky also. Susannah Quick, who married Nancy Callaway's brother, Josiah Isaiah Callaway on 3 Jan 1839. Amy Quick who married Moses Flinn. I've not been able to prove this relationship either. I do have extensive information on James W. Quick his two marriages and children from both marriages. James W. Quick was a Blacksmith in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I am searching for siblings and or the parents of Francis Quick. Does anyone have nay information on this family lineage?
