I am looking for information on my Grandfather, Archibald Gillies and any family history connected to him (prior to what I know). I believe he was Born in Scotland probably around 1880, but moved to the United states and worked on a freighter on the Great Lakes. He Married a woman Named Bessie. They then moved to Wenham Valley, Alberta Canada (near Breton, Alberta) where they homesteaded after having two daughters; Margaret and Leona (who were actually Born in Detroit, Michigan). Colin, Dugald, Donald and Robert Gillies were born in Alberta (Although Dugald may also have been born in Detroit). Robert died at an early age (before reaching adulthood). Colin was my Dad. He passed away in Barrhead, Alberta at the age of 72 in 1992. Any information would be appreciated. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
