Searching for grave site of Jemina(nee Kyle) Van Vleck. Abraham(he signed Abram or A) and Jemina Van Vleck moved to Tn from Ohio apparently in 1853. They used the Running Water, Tn post office which is now Whiteside in Marion County. They had two children, Trucilla Wright and Marvin Gage Van Vleck with them. Their third child, Edwin, was born Jan 7, 1854 in Running Water. Jemina died April 12th, 1854 and was buried at Running Water. We would very much like any information or ideas about how to find her grave. Abraham married Emma(Emily or Emmer) Jones of Lower Coal Banks now Moffat, Marion County, Tn on Aug 28, 1856. By 1859, he was working at the University of the South as a surveyor. In 1860, they are on the census for Hawkersville now Alto or Roark's Cove, Franklin County, Tn with the three children He was killed Sep 19, 1863 at Chickamauga. He was a 2nd Lt in Carnes' Battery Tennessee Artillery, Wright's Brigade, Cheatham's Division, Polks' Corps. Emma sent the children to NY to live with Abraham's family. Emma died Dec 17, 1914 in Sewanee, Tn. She is buried there and there is a CSA marker beside her for Abraham. Have also queried in Marion and Franklin County. Thank you for any help!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
