Looking for Alfred Ufford and his parents. Alfred was born somewhere in Canada. He married Catherine Amitage at sometime in Canada. They came to the U.S. in 1870. I am assuming it was Michigan because they don't show up in the 1870 Census and the next year I find them in 1880 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan without Alfred. For Catherine I have her also born in Ontario, Canada 11-15-1844 and died in Detroit, MI 8-16-1920 and was buried in Wooduck Cemetery in Canada. She married a William H. Cole in 1881 in Detroit, MI. I don't know if it was because Alfred was dead or if they were divorced. Now the following list is there children and their ages as listed on the 1880 census of Detroit, Wayne, MI; Henry Ufford b. 1862 Canada d. 4-27-1881 Detroit, Wayne, MI Henry was not on the census because he already passed on. The information comes from his death certificate. Mary Ufford b.abt. 1865 age 15 on census William Ufford b. abt. 1867 age on census 13 Susan Ufford b. abt. 1870 age on census 10 Alfred Ufford b. abt. 1872 age on census 8 Frederick F. Ufford b. 10-15-1873 Detroit, Wayne, MI age on census 6 d. 6-12-1918 Detroit, Wayne MI Got this information from his death certificate. Now the 1880 census also says that Catherine had 6 children ( as listed above), but only 3 were surving. I figure them to be Susan, Alfred, and Frederick because they are all listed as working in Detroit, MI between 1890 and 1891. This is everything I have collected. I am hoping someone has some kind of connection so I can get more information on Alfred Ufford born in Canada. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
