I am searching for the parents of Carrington Dixon, b. abt. 1800 d. bef. 1850. Found him in the 1830-40 census French Lick, Orange Co. Indiana. m. Rachel Williams Aug. 25,1822. My gggrandfather; John William Dixon-Dixson was born 1824. Info I had said 1819, but no source. Also, in the minutes of the Walnut Creek Church (Friends Church)Jewell Co. Ks. said Carrington and Rachel Dixon were the parents of John William Dixson-Dixon. Does anyone know how to find or have access to the minutes of the French Lick (Friends Church) in Paola, Orange Co. Indiana. All I have found is when they got married and the 1830 and 1840 census. In the 1850 census, it shows Rachel Dixon with the children. John William Dixon married to Ruth Dishon in 1845, so he wasn't in the home in 1850. Ruth Dishon Dixon d. 1860 in Paola, Ind. but not in the cemetery records. John m. her sister, Elizabeth in 1861 and they moved to Iowa then Washington Co. Kansas, then Jewell Co. Ks. John William Dixon is buried in Norton Co. Ks in 1903. The 1860 census shows Rachel Dixon in the Orange Co Ind. . She was b. Feb. 22,1804 in NC. and the Williams line is easy to follow back to North Carolina and Cane Creek MM. There were Dixon's in Cane Creek, North Carolina too but can't find the parents of Carrington-Carnton-Carinton-Charrentan-Canton Dixon.
