I am searching for information on Mary Tharp, daughter of John Tharp who was killed during the Civil War leaving her an orphan. She later married Richard L. Johnson, and is reported to be a descendant of Chief George Colbert for whom Colbert County, Alabama was named. She may also be the grand-daughter of Hezikiah Tharp of Tharptown, Ala.
