WAITE - SHOEMAKER Looking for the date of death and burial information for James Russell WAITE b. Dec 1840, AL m. 6-11-1868 @ Choctaw Co., AL to Keren-hapuch SHOEMAKER b. 12-04-1843, AL. [Her name is listed many different ways on census records= Curhanaback(1870); Curran(1880); Kerenhopuch(1900); Con Happie(in a pub called "Uncle Billy") She is named after the biblical Keren-Happuch, Job's 3rd & youngest daughter after his suffering had ended.] In 1870, 1880 & 1900, James Russell & Keren Shoemaker WAITE lived in Choctaw Co., AL. The 1900 census indicated they had 9 children but only 4 were still living in 1900. In 1910, the couple is in QUITMAN CLARKE Co., MS with son Alfred Otto WAITE b. 8-7-1880 & daughter Sarah S. "Sallie" WAITE b 7-15-1887. In 1920 Otto is single @ 39 & his parents are living with him still in QUITMAN, CLARKE, MS. Did Otto's sister Sallie marry? to whom? In 1930, Otto WAITE (incorrectly spelled Wate) is still single and living alone. I highly suspect that his parents, James Russell and Keren WAITE, died between 1920 & 1930???? IN QUITMAN,CLARKE,MS Does anyone know anything about the death or burial of this couple or anything further about the family. An UNKNOWN source submitted exact birthdates for some of the family on Ancestry.com perhaps from a Family Bible(?) I would love to make contact with descendants of these people because I have information on their relatives and ancestors. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
