I'm trying to find record of emmigration for MARIA BARBARA HURST, nee Raupp, who came to MO/ILL in the late 1850s, with 2 daughters; 4 daughters already emmigrated. Husband Martin stayed behind in Baden with their son. MARIA BARBARA RAUPP HURST: HISTORY: Born: September 6, 1804 Vögisheim, Baden to Johan Georg Raupp and Elizabetha Hechler. Baptized: Dec. 23, 1804 in Müllheim, Baden. Married: December 9, 1824 Vögisheim, Baden to Martin Hurst (born Oct. 13, 1795 Vögisheim, Baden). Died: April 17, 1881 Shiloh, Illinois. Buried: April 19, 1881 Shiloh Valley Cemetery, Shiloh. Illinois. Children: Johanes, born Dec.19, 1825; Maria Barbara, born Mar. 8, 1827; Maria Elizabetha, born Dec. 27, 1828; Anna Maria, born Dec. 19, 1830; Maria Katherina, born July 17, 1833; Karolina, born Jan. 19, 1835; Christina, born Mar. 21, 1836; Johan Jacob, born Oct. 25, 1837 (he died June 3, 1838 at 8 months old). All children born in Vögisheim, Baden. Note: following children arrived in New Orleans Dec. 18, 1853 aboard the 'Heidelberg', embarking from Havre, France: Maria Barbara Hurst (and fiance Jeremias Riedlin, possibly with his brothers Johan Georg and Karl); Maria Elizabetha Hurst Trefzer (and husband Christian and son Johan), Maria Katherina; and another daughter, possibly Anna Maria (since her future husband, Johan Zimmerman was on board). Maria Barbara Raupp Hurst left for America sometime after September 5, 1856 with her two remaining daughters. Her husband Martin and son Johanes (with his wife and son) remained behind in Vögisheim, Baden. She was living in St. Louis, Missouri as of July 12, 1860, when Census was taken. WHEN DID SHE IMMIGRATE? ON WHAT SHIP? WHICH DAUGHTERS ACCOMPANIED HER? (probably Christina and Karolina). (what happened to Christina?). (1) Emmigration Records: (a) Document from Müllheim, Baden dated August 15, 1856 by Martin Hurst requesting permission to go America with his wife Maria Barbara (born Nauhh) and two daughters, ( four daughters already in America). (b) Document from Müllheim, Baden dated August 26, 1856 listing Martin's debts; he states that the only money he gets, is what his children send him. (c) Document from Müllheim, Baden dated September 5, 1856 denying Martin permission to emmigrate.
