I am researching my family tree and am stuck on W.W. Capshaw. He was my great-great grandfather. He married Sarah Gillon (daughter of Hugh Gillon, Jr. and Mary Hill) in Grenada Co. Mississippi in March 1876. W.W. died around 1886. I do not know his birthdate or his parents' names. They had one daughter, Cora Lee Capshaw, in 1877. Unfortunately on her death certificate it does not give her parents' full names--only her maiden name. Her mother, Sarah Gillon Capshaw is said to have died around 1890. At that time Cora went to live with her grandmother Mary Pollon (nee Mary Hill). Mary Hill was married 3 times--1. to Hugh Gillon, Jr.--their children William E. and Sarah Gillon, 2. to Jess Shewmake--their children Robert and Georgia Shewmake 3. to J.W. Pollon--no children. Have not been able to find any of them on the 1880 census. Cora married James William Taylor in Tate Co. MS in 1894. I am trying to find "official" proof that W.W. and Sarah Capshaw were her parents. If anyone out there knows anything about this family, please contact me.
