Query Text: |
John Underhill the elder, shoemaker of Ullesthorpe, Leicestershire,UK, and married to Joane, wrote a will dated c.1635 which I have a p/c of. In his will he asks to be buried in Claybrooke and provides for various children including Michael, Robearte, Richard, Margery, Alice, John who seemed to settle around the Bitteswell, Frolesworth,Claybrooke area and were shoemakers and gardeners. I am trying to find out where John the elder and Joane came from. I have discovered 2 John and Joane's marrying in Worcester in 1592 and 1594 on Familysearch but I don't know how to link them to John the elder. Were there registers for shoemakers' guilds at this time in Leicestershire? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
