John Day Hughey was born in Greenup County, Kentucky in 1869. His descendants say he was the son of Henry Hughey, who married Rebecca B. Alexander in Greenup County, Kentucky in 1873, but he is not included on the Henry and Rebecca Hughey Census Report for Carter County, Kentucky in 1880. My question is why not? Was John a son of a prior marriage for Henry? Was John Henry's nephew? According to the 1880 Census, Henry was born in Jackson County, Ohio in 1849, but I have relatives who say he wasn't born until 1855. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
