DIXON HINSON The 1850 Anson County Census shows Dixon Hinson (age 42) and his wife Susan (age 38) living in the Sandy Point area of Anson County. His farm is shown being in the same vicinity as Samuel Spencer. I descend from his oldest child shown in that census - James (M) (age 15). Dixon's other children: Thomas (13); Lemuel (11); Charles (9); Lucy (7); Caroline (4); and Jane (2). Other than this census, I have no further documentation on Dixon Hinson. My direct line is 1Dixon Hinson, 2James M Hinson, and 3James W. Hinson. I recently noticed in the 1920 Richmond Census that James W Hinson stated that his father (James M. Hinson) was born in Alabama! This could possibly mean that Dixon Hinson brought his family into Anson County from Alabama right before the 1850 census. I have seen message boards that state Dixon Hinson's father was Elijah Clay Hinson, Sr., but I have no documentation. Are there any Hinson family members in Anson County who descend from this line of Hinsons and/or who might have more information? I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
