I'm looking for some background on my G.G.Grandfather James Sonter b1849NSW-d1908NSW (Epping)Australia. James was No. 11 of 17 Children born to David Sonter b1799Sussex-d1873NSW (The son of Robert Sonter1763-1849 and Frances Frigger Both of Kent), and Emma Chandler b1815Kent-d1888NSW, Dtr of Edward Chantler 1780-1841 and Sarah Knowlden 1782-1826. David and Emma with five children sailed on the Sailing Ship "Maitland" for Sydney in 1838. Their youngest child Emma age 7 died during the voyage and was buried at sea.
