I am looking to talk with those interested in William Steward(t) who settled on a Tennessee state land grant #12477 on the east fork of Norris Creek, (near Mimosa) in Lincoln County, Tennessee in 1818. The land grant was 27 acres and was bordered by Lewis and Edwards. His wife was Margaret(Peggy)b. 1789 Va. It is believed the family moved to Mississippi just before 1823 and that William died there, afterwards which Margaret(Peggy) returned to the land grant area, where she is in the 1830 census of Lincoln Co. Isaac Conger marked the original land grant in 1818, but was a close neighbor of Margaret(Peggy)Stewart. The land grant was sold to Angus Johnson in 1832 after it had been sold several times. Angus was another close neighbor of Margaret. After 1832, Margaret moved her family to near Gibsonville, Giles Co. Tenn. She is in the 1850 census in Maury Co. aged 61 in the household of James or John Henson.Her death or burial place are unknown. Known children of Margaret are Hettie, b. 1816 Tn, md. Henry Gist., Nancy, b. 1822 Tn, md. John Henson., Mary, b. ca 1820 md. James Henson, William, md. Eliz. Gibson ca. 1845 and Calvin B. md. 1849 Mary Ann Henson. Hettie was md. in Lincoln Co.
