Query Text: |
I am researching the O'Rourke name in Ireland and New York. My ggggrandfather was Joseph Rork, a son of William Carlton and Isabella Gibson O'Rourke. He was born in 1818 in Cavan County (no town) and the family emigrated soon after that as two other brothers were born in Essex County, NY in 1821 and 1823. Joseph came to Allegany County around 1835 and can trace the other brothers and Isabella from there. There appear to be connections to the following families, Martin and Feeney. Also the name has several variations from Rork to Rorke. Looking for connections. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
