Searching for Einar Olaus Iversen (from Norway to Chicago in 1881) I am searching for information about one of my relatives who immigrated to USA from Norway in 1881. He settled in Chicago. His name was Einar Olaus Iversen. He was born December 9th, 1845 in Skogn County in Norway. His father: Iver Olsen Bjorndalen. His mother: Anna Johnsdatter. From 1851 the family lived at the farm Bjorndalen in Naeroy County in Norway. From 1864 till 1881 Einar Iversen lived in Oslo (the city was named Christiania in those years). He were married to one girl Martine in Oslo; but I am not sure she followed Einar to USA. Einar left Oslo/Christiania in Norway June 3d, 1881; and he settled in Chicago. In Chicago he worked as a carpenter and building entrepreneur. In the patent register for 1907 (August 6th) is registered that Einar Olaus Iversen patented a “carpenter’s Square” (patent no 862.166). So far I don’t have more information about Einar Olaus Iversen in Chicago/USA. From Illinois Statewide Death Indes (1916-1950) I found one “Einer Iversen” who died April 24, 1937 in Cook County (death certificate no 6012729). But I don’t know if this is “my” Einar Iversen. I want to find out more about my relative Einar; where he lived, what work he had, married, children; and come in contact with his descendants. Thanks a lot ! Yours sincerely, Per Vidar Bredesen hengelun@online.no | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
