Samuel Hamilton (1847-1905) and his wife Margaret arrived in Menominee County, Michigan about 1888. The family appeared in the 1900 census in Menominee. Their children were: Katherine Hamilton (1883- ) who married Frederic J. Drew; Ella M. Hamilton (1885-1965) who married Bert Miles Depew; Arthur Hamilton (1887- ); Agnes Maud Hamilton (1888- ); Robert Hamilton (1891-1976); and Clifford Edward Hamilton (1898-1971). Samuel Hamilton died in Menominee on 7 January 1905 and is buried in Riverside Cemetery. His wife Margaret continued to live in Menominee. She appeared in the census in 1910 and 1920. She died in 1927 and is buried in Riverside Cemetery. Samuel Hamilton’s mother, Margaret Armstrong Hamilton (born in Ireland in 1813) resided in Menominee County from about 1900 until her death there in 1903. She is buried in Riverside Cemetery.
