I am looking for information about my Grandfather and his parents, grandparents, etc. His name is David Henry Hahn, born January 21, 1875 in Zanesville, Ohio to David Henry Hahn II and Kathleen Griffith. His Grandparents were David Henry Hahn I and Sophia. He was orphaned however there is no particular record of this. We only have information that he was fairly close to a Mr. William Shyrock. My Grandfather served in the Spanish American War and was then moved to the Phillipine Islands after the war. During World War II he was taken captive by the Japanese and interned at Santa Tomas until Feb., 1945, when the Americans freed them. There is a picture of him in Zanesville Signal on March 16, 1945. The title is "FORMER RESIDENT FREEDS FROM JAPS" and it also pictures 3 other men. He is the third from the left in the picture, which was taken in the gymnasium building at Santo Tomas internment camp at Manila. My Grandfather also knew William Shyrock of maple Ave. and Dr. and Mrs. R. L. Mandell. Any information would be appreciated. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
