Searching for parents of David CRAVEN, Born 08 Jan 1806 in Pennsylvania, New Jersey or New York (he is listed on succeding U.S. Census Reports of 1850, 1860 and 1870 as being born in each of these states). David CRAVEN married Catherine HART in Matamoros, Mexico 17 Apr 1837. Catherine was born in Ireland in 1822 and was the daughter of Felix HART who held a Mexican Land Grant in what is now Bee County, TX. Felix had been murdered and Briget, Catherine's mother, took her children to safety in Mexico during the Texas Revolution. David and Catherine HART CRAVEN returned to the U.S. between 17 Apr 1837 and lived in Donaldson, LA thru at least 1838, they then moved to Independence Texas and lived there at least thru Apr 1845. David and Catherine then moved to South Texas and lived in Patricio and Bee Counties until David's death 6 Feb 1880. David was a saddler and a farmer and a Bee County Judge. David and Catherine's children included: George A. 1838-1879, Mary Ann 1842-?, John 1845-?, Elizabeth "Bettie" 1849-?, David, Jr. 1852-? and my Great Grandmother Annie 1861-1905. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
