WANTED: Bristol United Methodist Church, at Bristol, WV, memorabilia, newspaper items and pictures before & after reconstructed of highway 50. Most importantly the stained-glass windows in memory of Samuel and Sarah E. BOGGESS. They and Harden family were active church supporters. Samuel (1811-1887/8) and Sarah Elizabeth (Wood) BOGGESS (1835-1918), our great grandparents are both buried, with her parents, east in the Maken/Point Pleasant abandoned church cemetery. Samuel and older sister Caroline Litchfield were orphaned in 1815, he age 4. Their Uncle Caleb BOGGESS became guardian. Later, like his name-sake grandfather, Samuel became a miller. Sarah was his 2nd wife in 1873, following 1872 death of Tabitha Wamsley. She a school teacher at public school #7 in Wizzardism Run next to Maken/Point Pleasant Methodist Episcopal Church. Sarah, with their 3 young sons, removed to wealthy minning community of Carthage, MO Sep 1889 where she had two brothers, both successful building contractors. Sarah's sons returned her body in 1918 for burial. Your help will be appreciated. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
