BAKER

Query Text:

I'm looking for information on Basil Baker who appeared on the 1810 and 1820 census in Bedford County, Va. I believe he had a son named Basil born about 1805. The younger Basil later moved to Tennessee and then to Montgomery County, Texas in the late 1830's. On the 1810 census he appears as Bazdel. On the 1820 census, he appears as Bassel. He may have had a daughter named Matilda who was married to a James Turner on 30 Nov 1824. On the 1810 census, the elder Basil was at least 45 years old and he fails to appear on the 1830 census. The conclusion is that he probably died prior to 1830. Any help would be appreciated.
