Searching family history of the Kane family of Scituate (Plymouth County) and Cohasset (Norfolk County) Massachusetts. Great-grandfather Patrick Kane immigrated from Gallway Ireland circa 1850. Owned farm on what is now Route 3A in Scituate. Had at least four children, Thomas F. Kane (my grandfather), a son who was the father of long-time Scituate Police Chief William Kane, a daughter Sarah Maria Kane who married Ray Souther and at least one more daughter who I believe married into the McGrath family. My father, Thomas Burke Kane, Sr. (b. 1912), married Edna Catherine Gannon of Weymouth and had three sons, Thomas Burke Kane, Jr., John Paul Kane and James Timothy Kane. Grandfather Thomas F. Kane owned Red Lion Inn in Cohasset for many years. Attached photo believed to be taken on Inn's front Porch c. 1917. My father is small boy in center. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
