Researching the NORTHCUTT family. Trying to trace to his Virginia roots, WILLIAM NORTHCUTT (c.1760-1839) born in Virginia, fought in RW from SC and died in Darlington District, SC. Married twice. First wife said to be ELIZABETH ADAMS of which nothing is known. No known children. Second wife ELIZABETH STEWART d/o John Stewart Sr. Children: John, Robert, William Nelson, Willoughby W., Mary Alice, Milly, Elizabeth, Nancy, Rispah, Lacy, Martha, and an unnamed daughter who married LAZARUS HUDSON. Early records indicate a ROBERT NORTHCUTT in the same area of SC as William. Disappears from records by 1800. Brother? Father? Uncle? Not known. Of William's children, William N. (married Keziah Beasley), Willoughby W. (married Isabel Newman), Mary Alice (married William King Sr), Lacy (married Elisha Bryant), Milly (married Thomas Atkinson), Martha (married John Ira Parnell) remained in South Carolina, spreading from Chesterfield to Kershaw Cos.
