John's father was James Abercrombie, b.29 Jun 1810 in Kilsyth Scotland, and he married Janet Gillis. Janet Gillies was born abt. 11 Mar 1813 in Banton, Kilsyth, Scotland and her parents were John Gillies & Agnes Bauld.
