I am searching for Catharine GRANT b ca 1765. Catharine m. Nicholas VANWAGONER. I believe this marriage is the one listed in Marriages of the Schaghticoke, Dutch Reformed Church, 1750 - 1868 as VAN WAGANER, Newton to Cata GRANT 26 Aug 1798. I also believe this date should read 1793 and has been transcribed wrong, as first child was b. 1795 Ephraim GRANT, son of Samuel and Grace (MINER), was b. 1698 in Windsor, Hartford, CT. Ephraim m/1 Elizabeth CADY 1723 in Groton, New London, CT. Elizabeth d. 1746, Tolland, Tolland, CT. Ephraim m/2 Esther PARKER, widow of Mr. LADD, 1747. She died 1760. Ephraim m/3 Catharine MEACHAM 1761. Children of Ephraim and Catharine are: Joseph b ca 1756, d. 10 Jan 1760 age 4 years; Catharine b. 28 Dec 1762, d. 29 Jan 1763; Joseph again b. 27 Feb 1764, d. 10 Jan 1779. I think there was likely another Catharine born - the one who m. Nicholas VanWagoner. Now - can anyone suggest how I proof existence of another daughter? I know that Nicholas and Catharine settled in Liberty, Sullivan Co, New York. I know that Catharine was the dau. of Rev. Joseph MEACHAM and Esther WILLIAMS. Esther was of the Deerfield captives. She was educated in Quebec, having been taken there when captured. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
