Looking for a William Garretson (or Garrison) born between 1790 and 1800. Is he the same William Garretson who witnessed (made his mark) the Will of Edward Hale in Giles July Court in 1823? William moved from Virginia to Indiana before late 1820s. He was married to Mary Fair of Maryland. He shows up in Tippecanoe County, Indiana, in 1829 on land purchase documents as William Garretson and the 1830 Tippecanoe County census as William Garrison with three children. Dies before 1837 as Mary Fair marries a Harkrider (Harkrader) in 1837. William's youngest (third?) son is Lewis Garretson, born 1830 in Tippecanoe County. Lewis's first son, also named William was born in DeKalb County, IN in 1857. In 1863 Lewis moved to Huntington County Indiana. I am trying to trace the Virgina born William and his siblings. When and where was he born? Who were his parents? What are the names and locations of William Garretson and Mary Fair's other children? Did William's brothers and sisters also move to Indiana? There are number of Garretsons in Huntington Indiana and surrounding area not directly related to my branch of the family. Are they children of William's brothers?
