Hello, I am looking for any information I can find on my Ballard ancestors from Cheneyville, Louisiana in Rapides Parish. On the 1870 census, Phillip Ballard lived with his wife Betsey Ballard. Phillip was born in Louisiana, and so was Betsey. This was a black family. I am also trying to find information on plantations in that area during that time where they could have possibly been slaves. Phillip was born in 1842 or 43. Betsey was also born between 1842 and 43.
