Our Hansford line, at least all the info that we have been able to find out so far, started out in Portland, UK in the year <1702> with a William Hansford, born in Swyre, Dorset, whom married a Ruth (unknown) in 1706. We have not been able to learn from where the Hansfords came from prior to this. Most or all of them ended up being Quarrymen, and the vast majority came from the Isle of Portland. From there they travelled to Australia, ending up in the State of Victoria, having paid their fare and landing firstly in Adelaide, South Australia.
