Surname(s):

GERLOFF : RABE

Query Text:

Henry Rabe came to America around 1880 from Germany. He probably came from Grosswelle, Brandenburg. He came with his adult sons, Henry, Will and Louis. Another son, Fred, came in 1881. There were daughters who did not immigrate. They settled in and near Odabold, Iowa. They also lived in Belle Plaine and Sac City. Henry's son, Henry, died in 1870. He had several children, the youngest a son, Will, who lived in Yettem, Iowa and was a locksmith. Henry's son, Will moved to Chicago and had a son and a daughter. Henry's son, Louis, was killed in a hunting accident. Henry's son, Fred, was born in 1841, married Dora Gerloff, moved to California in 1895. I am a great-great grand-daughter of Henry and have good information on the descendants of the son, Fred. I am interested in learning more about the immigrant, Henry, and his sons, Will, Louis and Henry and their descendants.
