Am trying to locate information on grandfather, Ira Newton Alexander, born 1880 (where? - Mecklenburg/Cabarrus/Rowan/Iredell Counties), died 1946, in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Was orphaned between 1880 and 1890 and raised by a sister(name unknown). (Same/another(?) sister, reportedly Lily Alexander Starnes, in later life possibly lived in/near Kannapolis/Rowan County, NC.) Ira Newton's family may have lived around Huntersville or Corneilus in Mecklenburg County, at one time, or even in Iredell County, NC. Ira Newton later lived (or may have been born?) and farmed in Atwell Township of Rowan County: Enochville/Concordia Community and belonged to Concordia Luthern Church. He married Mattie Emma Karriker of Concordia, and they had two sons, Roy Newton and Clarence Eugene, and four daughters, Anna Estelle, Louetta, Essie Iola, and Ora Virginia. The family moved to Kannapolis in 1921/22, and Ira Newton worked for Cannon Mills supervising a crew on the loading dock.
