Looking for ancestors of an Abraham Fleet (born in TN?), who had the following children: -Alice Fleet, born 1862, married John C. Griffin. They lived in Laclede Co/Newton Co. area of Missouri. -Delia ("Dillie") Ann Fleet - My GGgrandmother. Married Bivon (Biven; Bivan) Hudson, Laclede Co., MO. (was filed at Lebanon, Missouri records) -Eli Allen Fleet - married Mary Ellen Rippy. (She was of the Rippy line in Laclede Co., Missouri.) Note: These three Fleet children were living with separate families in 1870, for reasons unknown. We believe they were placed with these families sometime between 1866 & 1870. We believe, possibly, that their mother might have died between 1866 & 1870. In the 1870 Laclede County, Missouri census: Alice Fleet lived with the William Frank (& wife Jane Reid) family. Delia Fleet lived with the Caswell Craddock (& wife Lucy F. Pearcy) family. Eli Allen Fleet lived with the Eli Rippy (also shown as Rippee on some things) & (wife Charlotte ("Lottie"; or "Lotta") Ann Lewis) family. There is a document stating that Margaret Frank was the aunt of Alice Fleet. (Margaret Frank was the sister of William Frank, who Alice Fleet lived with in 1870 census. ***On Alice (Fleet) Griffin's death record, her husband stated: Alice was born in 1862 in TN. Her father was Abraham Fleet, born TN. Maiden name of mother: UNKNOWN, born TN. (We have no idea the first name of her mother either.) NOTE: We are aware of an Abraham Fleet (JR.) (Van Vliet) who was of the Van Vliets who were from Holland > NJ > NY > (Abraham Fleet probably moved to OH > MO.) This Abraham Fleet bought the "Fleet farm" in Carthage, Jasper County, Missouri, and came there in 1862. Jasper County, Missouri is close to Laclede County, Missouri. However, with are unsure if this Abraham Fleet has ties to the Abraham Fleet we are looking for. Any help is greatly appreciated, Billie Teague | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
