Am researching the histories of my 6th great grandparents: John Fawley b. 1719-20 d. 1803 m. Anna Maria Ault/Alt b. @1737 d. 1803. Both are buried in the cemetery of the New Jerusalem [Evangelical] Lutheran Church, Lovettsville, Loudoun County, Virginia. We have no record of them prior to 1769 in the Tithables of Loudoun Co; don't know where they came from, their true nationalities, whether they were immigrants or first generation etc, when or where they met or married. Their oldest known son John Fawley Jr stated in 1840 Census that he was born in Virginia in 1760. John & Anna Maria were members of the German Settlement in Lovettsville; their names are in German in the church records: Fawley as FAHLE, FAHLEY, PHALEY (many other variants in families FAULEY, FOLEY); am currently researching if variants also include FADELY,FOELLER, FOLLER, FELLOWS.
