Looking for a James Henry Gardner of Sonora, KY. I have a photograph of him as a young man about 16-20 years old. This picture belonged to my great-great grandmother, Mary Margaret Brown, who married William Thomas Thurman and later Jesse Gaddie. I believe he is in some way related to her. The card on which the picture is mounted is imprinted "Johns" Lexington, KY (photographer's logo). On the back is handwritten "Compliments of James Henry Gardner, Sonora, KY" I have searched census records for the area from 1880-1930 with no luck. I also have a similar picture of another young man about the same age, on the back of it is written "Bower Photographer" and handwritten, the name "Emet[sic] Gardner". (Emmett)? Are they related, if so how? Can anyone help? Emmett is on the left, James Henry on the right on the image. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
