The First Sheriff of Haywood County, NC was William Alexander. He was active in Buncombe County until Hayood Country organized in 1808. I am try to idenitfy him. My line is JOhn Alexander (1820 Hayood) - Dan Alexander (1820, 1830 Haywood)and I am trying to determine if there is any connection to this William Alexander.
