Hi, I'm looking for William Chambers who was born in VA about 1820. Family tradition states though that he mirgated to MO from TN. The 1850 Texas Co., MO census reflects that he was married to a Bida and their children were: Sarah (Simpson) Chambers, Payton, William and Elizabeth. Family tradition also states that shortly after 1850 the family moved to Laclede Co., MO and William died. William's name also according to family tradition is Richard - the 1850 census reflects his name is William though. William's wife Biddy did remarry to Abraham Munholland on April 3, 1856 in Laclede Co., MO. William's wife's name has also been reflected as Biddy, Bidy, Bida, Beda and Median. Here real name is not known. Her marriage certificate to Moses Bean (her 3rd husband) reflects her name as 'Biddy'. I know of the William C. Chambers & Ezekial Chambers families that migrated from Campbell, TN to Cole, MO in the 1830s. Then moved to Texas Co., MO before 1850 and then some of their family shows up on Laclede Co., MO. Since their path is what my William Chambers path would have been and their family names are so similar, I wonder if they are related. Please contact me if this family sounds familar.
