RE: PASCHAL LIGON I am currently reading a book entitled: "Letters from Forest Place... A Plantation Family's Correspondence, 1846-1881". edited by E. Grey Dimond and Herman Hattaway; University Press of Mississippi, 1993 This book is about a line of my WATKINS family....Dr. Thomas A. Watkins and his wife Sarah Fitzgerald. I got to page 81, and will quote from it. It is in a letter from Sarah F. Watkins to her daughter, Letitia Watkins Walton, dated Sept 2, 1854, and reads: "Cousin Patty Leigh was married last month to Cousin Paschal Ligon. They were married early in the morning and came to his father's. Her sister, Mrs. Burleson, died in June in child bed. Her infant died since." I am trying to place these "cousins". I know that Martha Watkins, daughter of Col. Thomas Watkins and Betsey Ann Venable, married Thomas Ligon, and I know of two children: James D. Ligon and Hon. Thomas W. Ligon. I have that James D. Ligon married Mary Venable, and they had seven children (that I am aware of). All I am saying is that I am aware of a Watkins/Ligon connection....but cannot place Paschal into this. Any help would be greatly appreciated~! Thanks, Ginga (Bham, AL) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
