Wayne Co, MO The 1880 Census finds JOHN L. FERGUSON in Greenville, Wayne County with his wife Nancy and her mother Mary Moore. John could be either 31 or 41 at the time, the first digit was smeared. He was born in IL and his father was born in IL and his mother was born in VA. They had 3 children, Ovanda Pearl (died when she was 8), Frank (moved to CA then back to OK) and John Alexander (my grandfather who was born in 1877 and diedin CA in 1949). We know Nancy died of tuberculosis. We know John L. may have had a term in the law and possibly died violently. At any rate both parents died before their children was of age as supposedly they were raised by a grandfather Abshire (sp) who owned a store. I want to find out what happened to John L, when he died and how. Who is this mysterious Grandpa Abshire? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
