SEXTON- My name is Patti Briggs. I am the grandaughter of John Wesley Sexton. His d.o.b. is 12-12-1899 around White Pine Tenn. He was one of a set of twins, other twin named Rufus that died in early childhood. He carried his mothers maiden name OF SEXTON and his fathers name is possibly BUCKNER FOWLER , At about the age of 6 his family moved to Gaffney S. C.. Some time later after the death of his mother and his father left them and they were raised by a family of Moss's in the Gaffney area.I do not know the situation or first name of his mother. She was believed to have lived in White Pine, Tenn. at the time of his birth . We have medical logs of Dr. Helms of White Pine , Tenn that confirms several Dr's visits to a Buck Fowler, at the Sexton residence and treating a child for illness. We believe this to be the treatment of my grandfather or one of his siblings. My papa was a precious soul and died December 14th, 1990. He married Blanche Edith Lamb D.O.B. 5-14-1902 from Madison Co., N.C. My grandfather was a great influence in my life and I would like to pay tribute to him by researching information on his family.
