I am seeking information on the Rev. Robert C. MOTER family. He began his Methodist ministry in 1874 in Arkansas, joined the old Columbus River conference in 1888, his first "Church" was at Colfax, later he was superintendent of the old Dalles district when the area was part of the Columbia River conference. Rev. Moter's name is also associated with Prairie City, John Day, Athena, Ore., and Davenport, and performed marriage ceremonies in various locations including Bonner's Ferry. For twenty years prior to his death at the age of 96 years in 1939, he and his wife Lucy Moter nee DOTY (died 1933) were active in the religious community of Bonner County, Hope, Idaho. I believe they had a daughter, Winifred. Rev. Moter's funeral service was conducted at the East Hope church by the Rev. E F HAROLD district superintendent. The Rev. William HASKINS, retired Methodist minister, and long time friend preached the sermon. I have also seen the name "Moter's Spring" connected with his ministry. Can anyone tell me where this was/is located. Rev. Moter was my Great Grandfather's brother (photo attached) and one of five children. They lost touch in sometime in the early 1870's. Any information would be greatly appreciated. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
