MORRIS: Searching for information on my G.G.G.Grandfather JOSEPH ABRAHAM MORRIS. He was married to a MARTHA HOLMES and they had the following boys who were all born in Corlton-on-Medlock and christened at the Cathedral in Manchester. Isaac Lewis (married Hannah Burnett) Richard(married Sarah Nelson) William Henry (Married Eliza Thomas) Charles Edward, Edwin(died aged 16 yrs after drowning in the Nth Para River near Gawler South Australia)and Ebenezer(may have died on the boat from England). They migrated from England approx 1849-1850. They settled in Adelaide were Joseph opened a bootmakers shop and became quiet succesful. Martha died at Woodside South Australia in 1896 aged 91yrs and I believe she lived or was staying at her granddaughters home (florence eliza Heidrich nee morris) Florence had died two months prior to Martha. Joseph died in either 1864 at west maitland NSW or in 1920 aged 101 in Glenelg South Australia( am still checking details to see which one is correct). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
