Seeking information on family of John R. Bogard and Eliza Shinn Bogard. He was born ca 1821, Monongalia Co., WV, a son of Abraham Bogard and Esther Jones Bogard. He married Eliza Shinn 9 Sep 1841, Arnold's Creek, Tyler (now Doddridge) Co., WV. She was born ca 1819, Shinnston, Harrison Co., WV. They resided in the area of Arnold's Creek. Their children were: Emily Swiger Pitts, Mary Hiley, Phebe Powell, Hester Pool, Priscilla Digman, John R., Flumoy, and Sarah Hill. Eliza died 11 June 1858 Central Station, WV. John went to serve in the Civil War. He died a prisoner of war at Andersonville, GA, 5 Sep 1864 where he is buried.
