Seaching for a James Radcliffe (pastry cook)born in the middle to late 1700's in Britain,maybe London.He was married to an Elizabeth Marsh and a daughter was born to them in 1795 in Middle Row,Holborn,London called Selina{Soreina,Surenia,Lurenia}Mary Elizabeth Radcliffe.They claim to be from the Derwentwater Radcliffe's of Northumberland,England.I really need help connecting this James whom may be an illegitimate son or grandson of Charles Radcliffe,Earl of Newburgh and the fifth Earl of Derwentwater.This Sorenia Radcliffe came to Australia with her husband LT Thomas Fennell of the Royal Navy and her 7-8 children.These children were all born in St Alphage,Greenwich, Kent,England.(Sorenia and Thomas immigrated to Australia with her family in 1839)Sorenia passed down stories about her family connections to the Derwentwater Radcliffe's claiming she was either the grandaughter or great grandaughter of Charles Radcliffe.I do know that while Charles was in exile in France and wanted for treason he visited London and nearby family aroung the area (1735-1737).He supposed stayed for around two years with family members and could have had illegitimate children in that time. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
