Trying to locate parents of James Emmitt Lambert, born in Jonesville, Lee Co Virginia in January 1857. He lived in both Lee Co and Wise Co during his younger years. Supposedly James' mother was a Cherokee Indian and the last time James saw his father was when his father left for the Civil War (fron VA) There were "tales" James had a sister but name is unknown if she existed. I have located him in Ky census, Johnson Co) starting 1880 thru 1930 but he seems to have dropped out of the air prior to his 1879 Kentucky marriage to Mary Ann Fairchild in Paintsville KY He was friends all his life with Charlie Cheeks who also came from Virginia and lived in KY and I believe there is some genealogy connection between Cheeks and Lamberts any hints or knowledge you could give me would be appreciated THANKS | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
