Query Text: |
I'm looking for the orgin of my ancestor, Joseph Eskridge, who is said to have never been a slave, though he was black (maybe mulatto). The 1870 census states that he was born in Florida, but other censuses say he was born in Alabama. He is mentioned in a book titled 13 Alabama Ghosts. Could someone PLEASE help me! I'm also inquiring about another ancestor named Beulah. Her married name was Walker, but I can't find any other information. She had four out of eleven children living during the time of the 1910 Census. She's also listed as a widow her son William and daughter Elitha were both living with her during this time. My speculation is that something awful happened and the family went into hiding. Beulah was said to have been native american, though I don't know if she was Creek or Choctaw. I'm searching for her birth parents. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
