James Albert Davis-Colleton County, S.C. Trying to find the parents of my great grandfather James Albert Davis. The first time I can find him is in the census is 1850 at 5 yrs of age living in the household of George & Eliza Newton of St. Paul's Parish, Colleton County, S.C. enumerated as J. Albert Davis. Also living in the household is a Sarah A Hutson age 15 & her sister Rebecca age 17. I find this interesting as he later married a Lavina Hutson. Then in the 1860's again living in the household of Eliza Newton this time enumerated as Albert Davis. In the 1870's he is once again enumerated as Albert Davis & then in the 1880's as James Davis. He was born April 17, 1845 & died Oct. 24,1908. He was married to Lavina Hutson Does anyone know where he came from? Appreciate any help. Cynthia Vorhis | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
