I am looking for information on my great great grandmother, Emmaline Mays, born Nov 9, 1829 to Robert Mays and Sarah Dyson Mays. According to some records, she was born in the town of Tennesse in McDonough County, IL. Other records show her birthplace as the state of TN. Also, she told the census takers a number of times that she was born in TN.Also, it seems that she had siblings born in NC, TN and IL. I'd appreciate it if anybody could help clear this up.
