Searching for information about August KEMPF who was enumerated in West Turin NY 1860 federal census. It is claimed that he was proprietor of the West Leyden Hotel in 1859. Wife Josephine, son Edward. Most probably were Catholic. Came to USA from France about 1850-55. By 1870 census he was located in Ohio. Most want to find: immigration information, record of son Edward's birth in 1854. (supposedly Rome NY.) Would love to have any information about this family, especially relating to proprietorship of hotel.
