I'm looking for a connection to Benjamin Murphy who appears in the 1820 Census Hardin County, Kentucky. There is a James that also appears in the 1810 Census of Nelson County. A will belonging to James mentions a Benjamin as a son. I'm assuming this is the Benjamin as that the only other Murphy in Hardin County or Nelson is an Abraham and a Jas. My line actually reads upward from Louis Murphy b. 1891in Larue County. His dad was Franklin Pierce Murphy b. abt. 1857 in Larue County. His dad was Lloyd Murphy born 1819 in Hardin County. I want to verify if this Benjamin is indeed my next line back as being Lloyd's father. My Lloyd married a Perlina Cundiff and this Benjamin married a Mary "Polly" Cundiff. The connection is strong but I don't have any actual proof yet. The 1820 census states that there were two boys living in his house age 0-9. The puzzle fits but not completed. My Murphys were all over the place in those days running and living between Hardin, Nelson, Marion, Larue, Taylor and Green Counties and probably a couple of other counties. Anyone have a connection to Benjamin or James? Or how about an Abraham or Jas (Is this a Jasper, James, or what?) in any one of these counties? These are the only guys I see as being my next generation. Would appreciate any insight. A million thanks, Donald Murphy | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
