 I am looking for any information on the Pettit/Pettet/Petitt (any spelling) during the time frame 1750 to 1850 in the North Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas region. Walker Pettit/Pettet was listed on 1824-1825 tax list for Hempstead County, Arkansas. Walker is later listed on the Ouachita Parish, LA - 1830 census with a wife and two daughters. Any information filling the gap between Walker's service in the War of 1812 ending May 1815 and the appearance in Hempstead Cty., Arkansas would be greatly appreciated.
